Manager, Water/Wastewater Treatment

Reports to the Director of Public Works and Utilities

The Manager of Water/Wastewater Treatment oversees the general operations of the water treatment and wastewater treatment. The position provides leadership and supervision of facility staff; Prepares and monitors the annual operating budgets relating to water treatment and wastewater treatment; Provides updates to the corporate asset management plans along with associated policies; Researches and makes recommendations for new technologies and processes enhancements aimed at increasing operational efficiencies.

Credentials: Post-secondary diploma in Environmental or Civil Technology or an acceptable and equivalent combination of education, certification, training and professional experience directly related to the water and wastewater treatment industry. Progressive, practical experience in the water and wastewater treatment field with at least several years’ experience managing publicly owned water and wastewater treatment systems. Certification and licensing in water and wastewater treatment to the levels of the treatment facilities would be considered an asset along with the ability to fulfill requirements of Overall Responsible Operator.
