Under the direction of the senior planning and building services official, the Deputy CBO is responsible for the management and implementation of the work and the achievement of the objectives within the Chief Building Official’s operations. This position is responsible for ensuring buildings are constructed in accordance with Municipality’s bylaws and the Ontario Building Code through examination and approval of architectural and construction drawings, site plans and site inspections; issuing permits; assisting developers and general contractors with permits and drawings as well as record keeping. This position manages the operation and maintenance of the municipal administrative building (Town Hall), premises and all building safety and security services.
Credentials: Post-secondary certificate in civil engineering technology (CET) or Ontario architectural or structural technology or equivalent and progressive municipal experience to a senior supervisory level. Valid Glass “G” Driver’s Licence in good standing and a reliable vehicle for use on corporate business. Due to the responsibilities of this position a Police Information Check satisfactory to the Municipality is required.
