Superintendent, Works and Utilities
Reports to the Director of Utility/Environmental Services
This position manages and supervises the water and wastewater collection systems and ensures the maintenance of water quality standards; Conducts inspections of the water and wastewater systems including new installations; Ensures compliance with all applicable Ministry of the Environment, Ministry of Labour and Ministry of Transportation Regulations and Legislations; Manages and supervises the maintenance programs for roads, sidewalks, street lighting, traffic signals and signage; Administers the safety plan and ensures adherence to all WSIB regulations and Ministry of Labour regulations.
Credentials: Senior supervisory experience. Progressive, related experience. Must possess a valid Ontario Ministry of Environment Certificate of Competency for Class 1 Water Distribution. Must possess a valid Ontario Ministry of Environment Wastewater Collection Facility Licence – Class 2. Must possess certification in WHMIS, Basic First-Aid and CPR.
