Senior Programmer
Reports to the Senior Manager, Information Technology
The Senior Programmer leads a team in coordinating and maintaining the Municipality’s portfolio of custom applications. Responsibilities include defining development standards and protocols. Review custom applications for both technical updates and alignment with business needs. Oversee projects and confirms status to departmental staff. Assesses, installs, tests compatibility, and maintains web and database centric applications. Creation and updates of documentation and procedures regarding applications, custom development, and development standards. Responsible for maintaining systems and applications security. Provide tier 3 support on commercial applications, and tier 2/3 support on custom applications.
Credentials: Graduation from a three-year Computer Programmer Analyst or Computer Science program at a recognized College of Applied Arts and Technology (or equivalent), with experience working in a large network environment, preferably municipal.
