Senior Planner - Development

Under the direction of the Manager, Planning Services, the Senior Planner – Development is responsible for a full range of planning functions related to the jurisdiction and responsibilities of Planning Services including the review, analysis and processing of development applications under the Planning Act: official plan amendment applications, zoning by-law amendment applications, site plan applications, and draft plans of subdivision / condominium; Researching and preparation of reports and other correspondence; Appear as a witness at Local Planning Appeal Tribunal hearings; Interacting frequently with community members to address planning matters; Responding to requests for planning information from the Senior Planner – Development.

Credentials: University degree in Urban Planning or related discipline combined with progressive planning experience and education in a municipal environment. A Registered Professional Planner (RPP) with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and a Member in the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP). Class “G” Driver’s Licence in good standing with own vehicle to use on corporate business.
