Planner

Under the direction of the Director of Planning the Planner is responsible for the review and analysis of Official Plan and zoning bylaw applications, site plan applications, compliance letters, subdivision and condominium applications, minor variance and consent applications including researching and drafting of reports, memoranda, letters and other correspondence; attending associated meetings and responding to requests for planning information; responsible for coordinating, preparing documentation for and attending Staff Development Review Team meetings and Site Plan Review Committee of Council meetings.

Credentials: University degree in Urban Planning or related discipline combined with demonstrated experience in the municipal planning process or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Eligibility for membership in the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and the Canadian Institute of Planners. Experience in word processing and general computer applications (e.g., MS Word, Property Database, City View, CAD, ArcGIS, PowerPoint, and Excel). Class “G” Driver’s Licence in good standing with own vehicle to use on corporate business.
