Reporting to the Manager, Programs and Community Engagement, and positioned to be primarily out in the community, the Outreach Services Associate is responsible for the Visiting Library Service and providing outreach support in the library and community at large. Responsibilities would include perform intake for client, train and coordinate volunteers, coordinate external book deposits, attend community events, pop ups, booths. Participates in the development and expansion of library outreach efforts. May create or assist in developing material to promote programs and services, organizing and sending program information to the team. Processing cash and digital transactions. Accept payment of cash, debit or credit for programs, and fees including handing the cash tray and cash register tapes.
Credentials:
Post-Secondary education in a related field of study such as Library Information systems, Library Technician diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience in a public Library environment with multi-service provision and/or a broad knowledge of a variety of library services offered.
