Ontario Works Eligibility Review Officer
Reports to the Manager
This position investigates all allegations of fraud reported. Tasks include interviewing, gathering information and evidence and maintaining accurate and up to date documentation. Prepares statements and provides evidence to police on cases referred for prosecution. Prepares submissions for Social Benefits Tribunal Appeal hearings. Responsible for completion and service of Trespass Orders. Liaises with police regarding public safety issues or death notifications.
Credentials: 2-year Social Services Worker Diploma, or a two-year diploma in a related field from a recognized college of applied arts and technology or a graduate of a recognized university in the Humanities, Social Work or Social Science. Experience as an Ontario Works or Ontario Disability Support Program Caseworker is required. Knowledge of the Ontario Works Act and the Ontario Disability Support Program is required.
