Municipal Enforcement & Property Standards Officer

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Bylaws, the Municipal Enforcement & Property Standards Officer is responsible for identifying, investigating and enforcing all municipal bylaws and ensures compliance. Performs inspections and enforcement, related to Provincial and Municipal Legislation including but not limited to Property Standards, Zoning, Licencing and various bylaws. Issuing orders, notices and other correspondence. Completing investigation reports and attending court to give evidence relating to each individual case. Conducts public relations activities including community outreach and responds to community concerns through education and awareness enforcement initiatives.

Credentials: Formal post-secondary education in Law Enforcement and/or combination of related education and experience. Certification as a Certified Property Standards Officer or Municipal Law Enforcement Officer or in progress. Demonstrated municipal law enforcement experience. Vulnerable sector screening police check acceptable to the Municipality. Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License in good standing and a reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
