Reports to the Director, Works and Engineering
The Manager, Engineering is responsible for the management and contract administration of engineering projects. Responsibilities include managing and administering construction contracts for capital projects; Designs and/or review design plans for Infrastructure improvements or construction; Manage Proposals and Request for Quotes for Consulting and Contracted services; Review and approval of engineering design drawings, review of Subdivision Agreements and Site Plan Agreements and recommends revisions. Prepares, revises and submits capital and operating budgets and develops strategies in consultation with the Director and division Managers for short and long-term infrastructure requirements
Credentials: University degree in Civil Engineering and a Licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) preferred; minimum of Civil Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation or equivalent required. Progressive engineering experience is required, including supervisory experience. Municipal experience would be an asset. Membership in the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (CET) would be an asset. Where not already attained, the successful candidate would be required to attain this designation during their employ. Water Treatment or Water Distribution or Wastewater Collection/Treatment certification would be an asset. Valid and satisfactory ‘G’ driver’s license and access to own vehicle.
