Library Volunteer Services Coordinator

Reports to the Programming and Community Engagement Supervisor. Responsible for the coordination of volunteer services for the Library. Includes the ongoing development and maintenance of volunteer records of the Library’s community information database. Maintains the records of volunteer opportunities online for access by the public or for reference purposes. Solicits volunteer opportunities from local non-profit agencies. Liaises with present Community Information and Volunteer Centre (CIVC) database membership to expand volunteer opportunities. Responsible for the provision of the volunteer matching service. Participates in volunteer events throughout the community and promotes the volunteer centre. Maintains liaisons with clients and the community. Coordinates visiting library services, including selecting, training, supervising, evaluating and providing orientation to volunteers who deliver material to housebound residents, and selecting, and promoting a positive image of the Library in the community.

Credentials: Formal education in Library Technician Diploma and/or volunteer management or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificate in Volunteer Resource Management is an asset.
