Reporting to the CEO, the Communications and Programming Co-ordinator is responsible for providing internal and external communications on behalf of the Library, to design, develop and oversee Adult Programming for all branches, and for administrative duties in support of the CEO. Overall, this position plays an integral role in acting as a resource to management and staff to ensure a comprehensive delivery of communication elements in order to ensure they have the information they need to competently represent the Library, its services and programs; supporting the CEO with administrative assistance; and designing, delivering and assessing programs in order to ensure they meet the Library’s mission to the community. Plans, prepares, schedules and delivers promotional and marketing strategies and tactics, aligned with the Library’s branding including but not limited to program strategy and plans, sources facilitators, launches, monitors and delivers programs, etc. Creates and prepares reports with respect to communications and programming. Responsible for program budget and purchases related to Programming. Maintains operational policies under the direction of the CEO. Updates and revises the procedures manual periodically. Conducts research to inform granting and special projects. Develops, synthesizes surveys and other quantitative and qualitative feedback. Prepares material for granting/funding applications. Provides back-up support and/or coverage to the Circulation Desk, when required.
Credential: Post-secondary diploma or degree for Library Technician, Communications/Marketing, Adult Education or related field or related experience.
