Library Circulation Team Leader
Reports to Customer Experience Supervisor. Responsible to lead the day-to-day operation of Library Reception and the Circulation Services. Implements and monitors policies and procedures. Monitors all Library reception and circulation staff. Drafts and monitors staff schedules and assigns tasks, ensuring appropriate coverage of public service points and making arrangements for absences. Monitors performance, implements training processes and monitors regular staff training and retraining. Monitors and ensures privacy of patrons’ files. Monitors and ensures the availability of supplies necessary for the operation of the circulation area. Prepares monthly reports on circulation and reception activities. Assists in the circulation department with checkout, check in, renewal, collection of fines and fees, answering queries on patrons’ accounts, membership renewal, new membership and orientation, sorting materials for shelving, processing Inter Library Loan (ILL) material from other libraries, and other Library related duties as they evolve through service and technology changes. Provides backup information and reception service to the public as required including answering and directing incoming phone calls, answering public queries, conducting reference interviews, providing readers’ advisory services, and assisting in the use of the Library’s computer and online resources
Credentials: Skills as acquired through a Library Technician Diploma or related library experience.
