Lead Hand Roads – Construction Maintenance

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Roads, the Lead Hand Roads – Construction Maintenance is responsible for performing, assigning and monitoring crews of Operators. Work involves participating in construction infrastructure maintenance programs and inspection of roadways and adjacent right-of-way’s including all applicable draining systems. Assigning and monitoring requires directing and guiding the work of assigned Operators and seasonal/contract staff. Work also involves assisting with the development and execution of the annual work plan (daily, monthly, yearly).

Credentials: Minimum Grade 12 diploma with significant demonstrated experience in construction road maintenance field related to roadways and adjacent right-of-way’s including all applicable draining systems.
Completion of TJ Mahoney Road School or in progress would be an asset. Class “D” Driver’s Licence with “Z” air brake endorsement in good standing. Confined Space Entry, CPR and First Aid Certifications, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Health & Safety Training including responsibilities to oversee staff as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act. Due to the nature of the contacts of this position a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) is required.
