Lead Hand - Facilities
Responsible for the day-to-day direction of the Facility Workers and Facility Operators including assigning daily job duties; external maintenance to grounds surrounding and adjacent to facilities; cleaning of park washrooms; garbage pick-up outside facilities and support of special events; operating of tools and equipment; record keeping and related administrative duties; cleaning and ice surface maintenance; maintaining inventory and equipment and completing requests for stock as required and responding to enquiries from user groups and the general public.
Credentials: Formal academic training in municipal area facility/parks operation or equivalent and Secondary School diploma or suitable equivalent. Refrigeration “B” Licence from the TSSA. Certified Pool Operator and Certified Ice Technician Certificate. Holds or will receive a CPR/First Aid certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certificate, Health and Safety, propane safety, Smart Serve, Fork lift, man lift certification. Good working knowledge of general plumbing, woodworking, electrical, welding techniques and small motor equipment repair. Class “G” Driver’s Licence in good standing.
