Information Technology Project Manager

Under the direction of the Manager, Business Solutions & Project Service, as a key member of the Information Technology Services Project Management Office, the Information Technology Project Manager is responsible for defining and maintaining project management standards for Information Technology projects across the organization including leadership to cross-departmental Information Technology projects and teams as well as project portfolio management and reporting from initiation to project close. The Information Technology Project Manager will coordinate internal resources and vendors for the execution of Information Technology initiatives, ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget. This position will also define the project’s objectives and oversee the quality control throughout its life cycle while adhering to industry standard project management principles.

Credentials: Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a municipal sector environment is an asset. Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE II, or Project Management training with significant information technology experience is preferred. Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or other Information Technology framework certifications would be an asset. Solid technical hands-on experience in software development and web technologies. Demonstrated technical experience with enterprise applications and across all stages of complex enterprise information management projects from initiation to closing. Significant experience in using project management tools for planning and implementing projects.
