Information Technology Business Analyst

Under the direction of the Manager, Business Solutions & Project Services, the Information Technology Business Analyst is responsible for participating in the development and implementation of innovative technology solutions, including providing support and enhancements to existing business applications. Works closely with business users, project sponsors, subject matter experts, and external vendors to translate business needs into detailed documented requirements, functional designs, business process flows and quality assurance plans. The Information Technology Business Analyst is a critical link between the Information Technology Department and business groups within the organization to ensure the successful delivery and operation of high-quality enterprise systems and technology solutions.

Credentials: Completion of a University Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, or related field of study, or an approved equivalent combination of education and work experience. Demonstrated progressive experience as an IT Business Analyst in a public or private organization. Municipal or public sector experience would be an asset. Demonstrated experience in business analysis techniques such as gathering and interpreting client requirements, interviewing clients, process mapping and optimization using industry standards and frameworks, as well as project management techniques/life cycle in a technical environment. Class G driver’s license and reliable vehicle for use on corporate business.
