Head of Children's Library Services
Reports to the Library Services Manager. Responsible for managing the operations of the Children’s Services Department of the Library including development and maintenance of the collection, provision of children’s information services and children’s programs, Young Adult collections, services and programs. Supervises and directs all Children’s department staff which includes recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, disciplining staff, establishing procedures and techniques and conducting performance evaluations. This includes regular staff as well as programming personnel who work on a contract basis. Assesses budget requirements, assists the CEO in establishing the annual budget for the Children’s department and ensures that the budget lines are kept throughout the year.
Credentials: Completion of formal academic training in a Library discipline at a university master’s degree level. Demonstrated successful experience in a Public Library, preferably at a managerial/supervisory level.
