Fire Chief / Emergency Management

Reporting through the Joint Council Committee and to the Chief Administrative Officer of the Municipality, the Fire Chief, in collaboration with two Deputy Fire Chiefs, is responsible for the overall management, direction and operation of Fire Services for two different and separate Municipalities. As a key member of the senior management team, responsibilities include: contributing to the municipal strategy to ensure best practice in fire and emergency services to this area; developing, implementing, managing and maintaining a comprehensive emergency management plan through sound business planning, budgeting and efficient operational practices; thorough knowledge and understanding of union negotiations; a proven leader who can demonstrate innovation, creativity, inspiration and motivation to the continuous development and improvement of this area.

Credentials: A senior level background within a Fire Services environment. Proven senior management experience involving administrative functions, budget preparation, report writing, program development, change management and teambuilding techniques is required.
