Financial Assessment Worker – Early Learning and Child Care
Reports to the Supervisor
The Financial Assessment Worker determines childcare fee subsidy eligibility according to policies and procedures. Responsibilities include review of entitlements, documentation for applicants and agencies and file maintenance. Responding to inquiries and to referrals from agencies, ensuring compliance regarding ongoing eligibility. This role also refers clients to other agencies and childcare programs and mediates differences between childcare centres and clients regarding fees and related issues. Identifies and refers allegations of childcare fraud to the Children’s Services Supervisor; Addresses irregularities in children’s attendance at childcare centres and communicates alleged Ontario Works irregularities to Caseworkers. Prepares monthly statistical reports.
Credentials: Graduate of a 2-year Diploma/Degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work or Human Services from a recognized college or university. Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 is an asset.
