The Director Long Term Care (LTC) and Senior Services directs the planning and operation of high-quality LTC services across all of the municipal LTC facilities, which operate on a 24 hour/ 7 day a week basis, any related seniors’ services, and all related property and infrastructure maintenance or development and ensures the efficient utilization of human, physical and financial resources to meet high-level management performance standards. The role is to uphold the municipality’s vision and mission in the delivery of LTC services, lead the development and execution of the LTC department’s strategic plan, play a leading role in lifestyle and care solutions for seniors focused on a person-centered model of care, achieve and maintain accreditation at all of the municipality’s LTC facilities and ensure the operation of the homes in good standing with all provincial requirements. The position advises Council and the LTC Committee on the status and direction of overall operations, policy development and programming, supports strong corporate management and administrative practices that helps the municipality fulfill its mandate to meet regulatory obligations, corporate goals and objectives, community service, clinical and quality standards. As an active member of the senior management team the position champions the interests of the LTC department while supporting corporate initiatives and senior management decisions and works with the CAO and senior management colleagues on the development of consistent corporate management and administration policies supporting labour relations, human resources, finance, information technology, and Council/Staff relations. This position is involved in a high degree of community engagement including but not limited to participating in speaking engagements across the provincial, municipal and community networks.
Credentials: Extensive, relevant progressively senior experience in Long Term Care, including senior leadership roles and administrative capacities.
