Director, Community Services
Reports to the Chief Administrative Officer
The Director of Community Services provides leadership, overall direction, management, and administration of functions associated with the Economic Development, Tourism, Recreation and Culture Department, and the Fire Department. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) provides input on interdepartmental/ corporate planning and strategic initiatives related to the provision of Municipal services and programs; Leads, coordinates and directs departmental managers in the preparation of strategic and annual business work plans, major policies, and service level standards for the departments; Directs supervision of staff and oversees the supervision of all staff within the departments; Assists in developing and managing the annual budget.
Credentials: University Degree in Recreation, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Certified Facility Manager (CFM) considered an asset. Experience: Progressive experience with management experience. Extensive leadership experience in municipal or broader public, private, or voluntary sector environments. Senior level experience with significant scope, complexity, and diversity of operations in public or private sector environment.
