Reporting to the Administrator, the Dietary Services Manager oversees the fast-paced day-to-day operation of the home’s dietary department which involves the management of food service employees including the nutritional care of the residents of the facility and the supervision of staff. This includes nutrition consulting, meal planning, inventory control, budgeting and purchasing. The Manager coordinates dietary activities with other departments in the facility and ensures dietary department and food service adherence with provincial legislations, regulations and standards.
Credentials: Post-secondary diploma in Food and Nutrition Management or equivalent, and a Registered Dietitian, or membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management, and Safe Food Handling Certification. Significant experience in dietary services in a LTC setting, and supervisory experience. Demonstrated knowledge of food service trends, quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, preparation, and presentation. Experience with budget preparation and management.
